Upon arriving into Boston Logan on Monday night, it was a whopping 29°F (yup back to Fahrenheit… yup below freezing). Tuesday it rained all day, Wednesday it went back down to freezing which laid all roads with a slick layer of black ice, leading to the closing down of the major highways for some of the day after numerous pile ups… It’s that time of year again. Time to put on your snow tires, sunglasses, and turn your brain onto the sharpest setting once you step into your car.
Thursday, however, it was over 50°!! I woke up early, joined a gym downtown, and ran home after working out… in shorts. It was incredible, but sad, knowing that it’d probably be the last time I’d exercise outside for 4 months. When I got home, I finished cleaning up the remnants left from unpacking, showered, then my best childhood friend Courtney was magically downstairs YAY so we spent the day doing USA-type things: eating turkey sandwiches and chatting at the counter with my mom, driving in her SUV to the mall to pick up her brothers (which she had dropped off before coming to my house), then driving to her house to lie in front of the fireplace next to her colorful, tinsel-y Christmas tree. Also, her mother wants a puppy for Christmas, so her dad got one of those stuffed animals that barks and moves around when you press a button, as a joke. Also very American. Love it. Oh and they also have these amazing air fresheners that smell like Balsam. Crazy. Then we ate tortilla chips with salsa until we wanted to puke! Best day ever.
I finished the day by watching a Movie on Demand (chalk one up for Team America, again) with my family, called Debt. See it. Then, I stupidly emailed my freshly new ex-boyfriend, who is traveling Israel with his best guy friends/fraternity brothers. We did this during our two-week travel break during Study Abroad, which he happily and even lovingly responded to… but this morning I woke up to an email to the tune of “I know you miss me, but try not to think about me to much. We’ll see how things work out when I get back, seeing as I’m bouncing around Israel and you’re going to bed at midnight every night.” Oh! Awesome, I didn’t think about it that way so thanks for letting me. I totally understand now how my new domestic lifestyle at home is one, relevant at all and two, just isn’t appealing to you.
So offended, I responded, letting him know that I was removing him on Facebook so I wouldn’t have his amaaaaaazing activities and Facebook updates he chose to make instead of bldjgal whatever!
Okay, I just re-read the email after removing him on Facebook… Maybe I’m being dramatic. Either way, I gotta get ahead in the race to recovery! Uh oh, he just gchatted me BLAST I can never be dramatic and get away with it without trouble.
SOOOOOOOOOOO today it is snowing! I hear snowblowers, plowtrucks, and my Mom yelling at me to get out of bed. Oh, home is so sweet. Skål!
